Individual Assignment 1. As for me, I grew up in Bangkok in an international school called ICS. I went there from the time I was in first grade till my senior year and we used computers the whole time I was there. We learned how to type on the computer using games like Mario Typing and other games in school. In highschool we used the computer to make our year book. When I went to college all of the work was done in the computer, because I was learning about audio engineering. Overtime, I’ve learned how to use the computer more by exploring programs on my own. When I taught in Children’s Church I used powerpoint, videos, and dvds to help my teach the students. Right now I teach in a kindergarten and we don’t use the computer a lot in the classrooms, except to reinforce the English lessons with games. However, the teachers use it to find ideas for lessons, decorations, and making presentations for the parents. I think that computers are used a lot in International Schools in Thailand, however I don’t know about the local Thai schools because I have never studied in one. 2. "Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.” In relation to ICT leadership, I think that this quote could mean that ICT leaders have to be focused on what is current now but we need to know and be aware of the future technological advances that can be used in the class. For example, for now leaders in ICT may utilize the laptop in the classroom, but in the future there might be use for electronic readers like the IPad. In other words, be up to date on what is current now, but be open for the use of technology in the future and be prepared.
1. Since I left my country almost 8 years ago and have been working in Thailand since I will write about the use of technology in a Thai school I used to teach at in Ratchaburi (English Program). Our program had a well-equipped computer room, however it was used only for computer classes which, in my opinion, was a waste. Other teachers had difficult time using it and they were not really welcome to use it anyway. As I said, I was used mostly for computer classes. There were however other things teachers could use in the class. Each class was equipped with a projector and some classes had a TV with a CD/DVD player. Also, there were laptops available so a teacher could take a laptop, connect it to the projector and show movies and/or PowerPoint presentations. The problem was that some teachers overused it. Instead of teaching, their whole classes were movies. Therefore, even though, the classes were quite good equipped, technology was in many cases misused. Teachers would only download YouTube movies, show them to their students with a very little (or without any) explanation and it would be it - they taught their class. It taught me one thing - technology is important and helpful, teachers however need to know how to use it and also they should make sure they are not overusing it.
2. Here, I agree with Micah. We need to implement in education what is available now, but also keep in touch with the tech news about what is coming next, what might be very well utilized in the class next. As Micah said, we use laptops today, but soon Tablets will probably replace them. It looks like soon all the students will have some kind of an ebook reader (tablet, netbook, etc.) so there will be no need to use books in class. As admins and teachers we should follow the latest in educational technology and try to implement it in our classes (if possible of course). What might be very useful soon is 3D technology which will allow the students to teach science movies in 3D for example. So, use what is available, but also keep in touch with the latest developments.
"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
Reading this quote, I admire the role of a Leader. First, it is the talent-gift given particular oneself because leadership is very complex especially in the global and technological era. Second, That gift must be given to other in order to every one has a chance to cooperate with each other and contribute what they have to make the world become a better place to live.
A leader is a person who leads another to go further with his or her vision and belief. Today with the help of modern technology people can easily get information and events happening all around the world. So as a leader he or she must help the team to understand, to discuss, to determine and to go forward as a team because of the benefit of a team a community. Beside, a great leader can predict the coming risk as well as the problem solving.
First and foremost, a leader is trustworthy who willingly to share his or her dream, to believe the followers, to encourage them, to give them chances to develop their talents. He or She must take responsibilities for the benefit and security of followers.
1. I was born in thailand but lived most of my life in India as I studied there for 11 years in a hill station called mussoorie. I went there from the time I was in Kingdergarden till grade 10 and we used computers only during computer classes. In highschool we used the computer to make our weekly newspaper and during those days we learnt alot of programming like LOGO in Ms - Dos and the binary system. Later we also learnt how to create an html web page. When I went to college all of the work was done in the computer, as we had to submit our assignments in word document and learnt a few programms then too like Matlab and Minitab Overtime, I’ve learned how to use the computer more by exploring programs on my own.I think that computers are used a lot in International Schools now but when I was there the computer was used rarely, now when I revisited the school I notced that all classroom contain a computer, however I don’t know about the local schools because I have never studied in one.
2. "Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.” In my point of view I think that ICT leaders have to focus on what is current and also need to be aware of the future technological advances that can be used in the classrooms. I totally agree with Micah and Marcin that now students utilize the laptop in the classroom, but in the future there might be use for electronic readers like the IPad or netbook. With the rapid growth of technology the near future looks more like what we see in movies that there is the use of robots and spacecrafts for transportation. I feel the same will be for the education system, in the future the teachers and students will be fully equipped with technology. That why the leaders of today have to keep up with the upcoming technology and keep their students updated too.
1. After growing up in Belgium I left more than 10 years ago to live abroad; first in Senegal and later here, in Thailand.
We began studying computer science at junior high school. The classrooms were well equipped and the teachers were highly qualified and up to date. I bought my first computer at the age of 14 (I still remember my parents telling me that this machine had no future).
At college I studied business and information technology which meant I was using the latest computers; Belgium was and still is, a leader in Information
2. “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.” The task of a leader is not an easy one; he/she must guide a team of people to an assigned goal despite the problems faced. His/her vision has to be clear and his/her knowledge well up to date. Two important words came up to me in that quote; the first one is maintaining and the second is focused. •Maintaining; the leader must keep focused on the end vision even when members of the group might think that resolving immediate problems was actually the main goal. Since all problems that the team may face will fall on the leader’s shoulder it is quite human for him/her to “forget” the goal that was set.
•Focused on the next ten meters; knowing were the team is and keeping in mind that changes may occur in a near future, and anticipating any problems.
During the time I was at school in England I witnessed a great change in the use of ICT at schools. When I began school there was only one computer for the entire school. A teacher had to be present to help the students use the computer. At highschool we had a dedicated computer lab however the teacher who taught us was the physics teacher. We were in the position of having 'state of the art' equipment with no one trained to teach us. While I was at university the ICT services were excellent with all the equipment, infraustrature and personell around to ensure the resources were best used. I believe now there is a case of the wealthier schools being able to buy and maintain excellent ICT centers. Some schools however don't have the budget to be able to offer the same facilities.
Leadership needs to be concerned with the overall long term objectives while still being alert to short term goals and potential problems. if a leader is only focused on the goal or summit they may become blind to the day to day problems which can accumulate and delay or even prevent the overall objective from being completed. If leadership is only focused on the now or the next ten metres they will become sidetracked and may not achieve their objective. Good leadership will always have a long term process in place with the ability to adapt if necessary.
1. Elaborate on the ICT using in your own country?
I’d like to share the ICT using in my training field.
In order to all of my audience is not student they are adult including sales and marketing people in the company so ICT is a fruitful tool for adult learning They prefer image, animation, VDO, multimedia to enhance their attention and strengthen their learning and it can also be a self-study tool which will be personalized by each of them.
In sales team we have been developing E-learning to be a tool to improve their competency in terms of product knowledge, they can study from basic knowledge to advance knowledge and they also do product quiz to test themselves and trainers can use the result of the test to evaluate and design their further development plan.
Moreover in pharmaceutical industry, most of sales representative currently use call planning software to create optimized and practical call plans that can increase sales achievement and some company has implemented tablet using to be a tool when sales representatives provide product information to customers.
So ICT using is very crucial in my field and I strongly believe I can apply and maximize what I have learnt from this course for my audiences.
2. What does the content mean?
“Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next 10 meters”
This quote guides leaders how to be a success leader if we want to talk about ICT leadership, I think after leaders have finalized the directions to success they should focus on their road map, where they are now and where they want to go to. Leaders should analyze the current situation and monitor whether they are still on the right track. In the same time leaders should have good vision to have optimized forecast to be well prepared for short-term and long-term future and also have awareness of continuous improvement to move forward to achieve goal.
1) In your own words, please elaborate more on the ICT using in your own country. (In the educational field) In my country (Japan), although there is a strong emphasis on advanced technology. use of computers (or other technology) at school is not as widespread as it should be. I think that in Japan, “computer” or “technology” is not thought as an academic subject, but it is rather thought as a skill class. So, especially in high schools, where preparation for university entrance examinations is thought to be the most important priority, there are not many opportunities for students to learn about computers and other technology. I studied in ordinary public schools from elementary to high school level in Japan. In my high school, those subjects which would be in university entrance exams were taught intensely, and there was not much time for other subjects, such as arts, music, and ICT. However, now more and more people know how important ICT education is, and I think the situation may be changing. High schools may still put too much emphasis on university exam preparation, but elementary and junior high schools probably give much more opportunities to students to be familiar with advanced technology. Also, private schools may have much better facilities and educators related to ICT. By the way, this is K-12 level. In universities, if you study in the fields related to ICT, you will of course have good education on it. Also, I should mention about ICT education for adults. In Japan’s rapidly aging society, it is becoming more and more important to meet elderly’s needs and not to isolate them from society. There are lots of so-called “culture schools” which offer computer skill courses for adults. Now companies develop and sell elderly-friendly electronic devices, such as cell phones, computers, and other home appliances. Since there are many older people in Japan, and the numbers is going to increase rapidly, meeting these people‘s needs is not only necessary, but it also gives a good economic potential. So, in my opinion, ICT education in the future in Japan should concern older generations as well as younger ones. 2)"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.” I think this quote mean that leaders need to know exactly the long-term goal we are aiming at or the ultimate purpose of what we all are doing now. If the one who is in the leadership position doesn’t know the ultimate goal, he or she will not be able to guide others properly. In addition to it, leaders need to know what need to be done now or immediate future. To achieve a long-term goal, we need to accomplish short-term goals. By achieving short-term goals one another, step by step, we could reach the ultimate goal, the top of the mountain. So leaders need to know what need to be done now or near future to achieve an ultimate, long-term goal. Thanks, Chie Katsuda
1. I grew up in Thailand. I feel the technology world is advancing too fast if it compare in the past. I feel I can see how large a role technology can play in education. I didn’t use much computer program when I was a kid. I’ve learnt much program through place that I have been worked with company. We need to use all Microsoft programs, publisher, photo shop, web EIM, and internet research in order to integrate with business plan. In the present, students always have multimedia presentation in the class. Even the early year stage continues learning ICT class. Children learn more stories online and write their own stories make a scene. This is the thing that I should move forward learning ICT with globalization of educational technology.
2.“Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you are climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next 10 meters.” Leadership develops and has never ending process of learning. It needed for long or short term plan for prevent failures. ICT leadership must cope with rapid changes in adopting the technology innovation and achieved their goal.
1.In your own words, please elaborate more on the ICT using in your own country… The first time I touch computer is when I was five. At that time, computer is an untouchable matter for me, and I could not understand anything about computer at all. Until I was at high school, I had computer lesson every day, but the only thing I can do was just typing….for my home work, assignment, or outside reading. However, the change of operation system form DOS to Windows made me learn computer more easily. Thus, after I entered university, I start to learn more, the communication such as ICQ, MSN, or E-mail. Also, the information collection form internet and the other software. After I graduated from university, I went back Taiwan and I felt very surprise because the technology of computer usage developed very fast and popularized. Therefore, I went to the training center to learn more and finally become an engineer and a teacher. During the period I teach in Computer Training Center, I realized that ICT in Taiwan is very prevalent. My youngest student is K5, and the oldest is almost 60 ages. They may come to learn how to use communication tools like MSN or Skype, or they may learn how to use Microsoft Office, Adobe Software or how to use engineering software. Also, the information in internet, how to get them, how to search the one they want, etc. Therefore, I think ICT may be the tendency of learning in the future.
2.What does this content mean? “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.” It means a leader may have a broad and long-ranged of view. He or she must be able to analyze and obviate different situations and guide the team to achieve the goal. Thus, when the team set a long term goal, the leader should analyze and determine what they may going to do in the following future and leads his or her team members step by step. Also, the leader should be able to use people, which means he or she must know what his or her members’ ability, and use the right people in the right position. When any accident happened, the leader should be able to observing the situation and find out the way to solve problems. As well as he or she must be pacify the team and guide them continually to achieve their goal.
I was born and finished high school in Myanmar. Since I left my country 7 years ago, I am not familiar with the current technology use in Education field. I started using computers when I was in Grade 4, but it was always at home. I learned how to use the computer through taking computer lessons, and it was a popular thing back in 1990s in Myanmar, but now everyone is using computers and a lot of people know how to use the computer by exploring programs on their computers at home. Computers are used a lot in International Schools now, but they are used rarely in public school systems unless they are the top schools in the district. In those top public schools, they have well-equipped computer rooms but they are used only for computer classes. The public school systems are not using the technology for several reasons. The government has set aside very little money for education system so there is not enough money to integrate technology in education. Teachers who are in public school systems are still using traditional teacher-centered instructions that they are not willing to integrate technology in daily instruction. Most teachers are committed to their students and devoted to teaching, but most are illiterate in technology
"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
I agree with the above statement; however leadership is not only “to do with maintaining the focus on the summit”. Sometimes it is important to look back what we did wrong and we need to learn from our experiences not to do the same mistakes again. People who are in ICT field also need to be up-to-date with current technologies and even need to stay on top of it since they are innovating the new technologies for future.
During my education time in Turkey, the technology that was being used at schools was in the period of infancy and limited I can say. There were only presentations of lecturers using projectors and the computers were used only for computer lessons. But as I can follow from my nephews' education at the moment; there is a big improvement in the technology usage since then. Now the classes are well equipped with computers and internet access is available all the time. Students complete their tasks and assignments on the computers and always have the chance of research via internet. But unfortunately mostly this is what we can see in the private schools. Government schools are not always as equipped, but basically all the schools have computer classes and a computer room at least.
"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
Leadership definitely needs a passion for success in order to achieve the goals that you set within your career and through this way you should never let to be drawn away from your main target. Also in order to reach the success, what you need is to have the ability to see the next couple of steps to be taken and be ready and up-to-date so that you can put them into action.
1. In your own words, please elaborate more on the ICT using in your own country…
During my school days, especially during elementary and high school, in the Philippines, computer usage was very limited because that was the time computer era has just started. But I was able to use more of the computer in my college days in my engineering design subjects using “AutoCAD” programs. And I knew that this autocad program has been modified several times already.
But now, as I have observed with my children, computer has been in the school curriculum starting from grade school. Students are taught how to use computer at the very early age, and in high school, they are encourage to make computer programs. This technology has become part of students’ life inside and outside the school. Most of the households have at least a computer which is used for children’s school works and as household members’ communication and recreational tool.
2. What does this content mean? “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.”
A leader must not be only concentrating on the current tasks but also to the future tasks to be done in order to achieve the goal. He must not only be a visionary but also good planner. He should be able to anticipate what might happen in the future and must have a good plan to address such possible situations.
As far as ICT is concerned, an ICT leader must be up-to-date with the current technology. He must have plans for further improvement of their present ICT system. He must be also innovative by trying some new software or hardware.
1/ I have just known IT when I became a mathematic student at The HCMC University of Pedagogy. Although I've graduated, but in Theoretic Mathematic, I was still in strange to IT. Because, during attending at University, I have no chance to discover their usefulness. There are only some computers dated 384, 386 with slow - running in my country at that time, I must to wait for my turn to practise programming on computer for a long time. Therefore, I'm gradually boring computer. I only program on the paper !!! When I began to teach, the computer is necessary for me to prepare my teaching lessons. Furthermore, in recent years it has been IT explosion in my country, the applications of IT are more and more abundant, well-rounded and gainful. IT attracts me really. Now I rarely work on paper, but directly on the computer.
2/ “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.” This quote has been drawn from " A final reflection on ICT Leadership" is in ICT lesson. Therefore, It need thinking in IT context. If the image of the ICT Leadership is compare to the image of mountain climbing in that context, here are three issues concerned in the quote :
- Leadership has everything to do" : Naturally, leadership is headship of organization. With that role, he/she has his/hers a list of things for thinking and acting in the world is flat (said by Thomas L.Friedman).
- "Maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward" : However, he/his is busy with his/hers a long list of woks, he/she doesn't set limit for him/her. He/his always remember that they, his/hers works, are not his/hers constant purpose like the character of the simple present tense. He/ she always works dynamically like the character of the present continuous tense and toward the purpose of IT is higher and greater in the future. This is the image of mountain climber has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that he/she is climbing toward.
- "also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters". Despite working with the purpose toward the summit, he /she doesn't neglect of his/hers duty in the present, With his/hers prudent of leadership, he/she always identifies the issues in regard to his/hers works in the next ten meters and has appropriate action can be taken. This is character of leader who is being focused on what needs to happen in text meters.
1.In your own words, please elaborate more on the ICT using in your own country. I was born and finished high school in China. The ICT implement in china higher education started from 1994.China Education &Research network(CERNET) at the beginning.CERNER developed rather slowly. In 1999,the rapid expanding of china higher education:policy of from Elite Higher Education to Mass Higher Education, the increase of new students. It directly results to the development ICT use in universities and colleges around the china. The most important things on ICT using in china is On-line Education school(OES).The On-line Education school(OES) is a special separate organization in some china universities:It is responsible for instruction activities of all subjects of the university by use of ICT means,The OES student need not come to campus for study, they can study at home or a local learning center scattered in various cities. Most of the OSE have the right to recruit students and issue special diploma.On-line Education means to transmit teaching by network to the OES students around various regions.however, the Internet in most of china regions is not good enough to support the on-line learning, the cost of linked to Internet is high, some students even have not their own computers. To solve those problems, the OESs have set up Learning Center Outsides Campus(LCOC).Enroll new students for OES in local area, manage students and oraganize test provide network and computer classroom for local OES students. The whole instructional process of On-line Education school(OES) consists of two parts:ICT mode and traditional mode.ICT mode includes:Internet-related tools(such as E-mail),Satellite-related tools(TV,IP broadcast). traditional mode includes: Face-to-face instruction,Concentrated exam. Therefore, I think ICT may be the tendency of learning in the future.
2.What does this content mean? “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.” It means leadership is important for being successful.Leadership, a critical management skill, is the ability to motivate a group of people toward a common goal. These items will help you develop your skills as a leader.Leadership is one of the most salient aspects of the organizational context. However, defining leadership has been challenging.Leadership has been described as the "Process of social influence in which one Person can enlist the Aid and Support of others in the accomplishment of a common Task. " Definitions more inclusive of followers have also emerged. leadership should do everything to make sure that you can reach the target and foresee what will happen in the future .Leadership and can keep on the target key attention and can foresee developments in a short period of ability are closely related.
Assignment: 1.What is the meaning? "Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres." Answer: Before you tackle any problem, one must: 1) Look closely at the problem. 2) Understand the problem at hand, and to come up with a plan of action 3) Once a plan is in place, look at the problem and then restudy your solution, so you can fine tune it. 4) Implement your plan and fine tune it as you go along. 5) Do not lose sight of the objective; continue to implement the plan and to continue to think of the best way to execute the next step in the process. 6) Once the objective has been achieved then revisit the project to see what are the lessons learned and is there a better way to do the same project in the future. 2. 1. Although I'm a Thai national i lived in India for about 13 years. I used to live in Calcutta and studied in CIS; Calcutta International School where I completed till grade seven there. During that time, the computer usage was very moderate, although I do remember alot from what I learnt there. My school teachers taught u a lot of theory regarding computers like the founder etc. From all those names I do remember Charles Babbage even though I might not remember more. We also learnt a lot on various programs like Paint, Excel, Wordpad(that time Ms. Word wasn't so popular). However, that was just a part of my personal experiences. Discussing about India generally, India has a very good ICT hub like Bangalore and many technology universities like IIT, however the distribution in the usage of the technology is poor. It's not equally distributed. There are so many areas in India which have not developed at all, where students don't even know what a computer is and they are just thankful they can afford a notebook to write on. It's really sad but even though many people address the issues, still the implementation is not happening.
2) Discussing about Leaders, a leader is effective when he/she can walk on the best path keeping the final goal; the vision in mind, but at the same time not forgetting the short term goals which also need fulfillment. It's not easy being a leader, however, many people are gifted and talented to perform such roles. Many times, when people work, they forget or ignore the small details which could affect the whole. Therefore, it's imperative that a leader manage jobs and tasks effectively to get the desired result.
Individual Assignment 1. International Schools in Thailand these days focus a lot on educating computer studies. My school however focused more on secondary to high school. While in Elementary school we didn’t use computers. In high school we had computer labs. Where every week there will be 2 classes on computer teaching from the very basics. Computer studies have become a required course as the importance has increased and it is now a way of communication. This is the reason why IT is now called ICT. And as teachers today we need to keep ourselves up to date with technologies to keep up with the rapidly changing technologies and the needs of our students. 2. “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
Maintaining the focus for me means having a clear vision to where your goals are and achieving them by focusing on the current and future needs as technology today changes very quickly and teachers or leaders for that matter need to keep themselves well equipped and up to date about the knowledge of technology today and where it is leading.
1.In your own words, please elaborate more on the ICT using in your own country. I was born in China. Now in my country the ICT were using widely. For exampel, online education. As remote education, online courses and online exame and so on.These are using the internet and information technology. We just need a computer and internet and we can learn everything that we want.So the ICT are very useful. Like this, the ICT in our country. And next i will talk about the experience of myself. Personally, using of the Information and communication technology in Education are not popular. When i went to the junior middle school i have to started to learn the lesson of "Comuputer",and when i went to the high school i have to begined to study the lesson of "Information technology",so i think in our country,in my provice was so late let students to contact the information technology of the computer. And in our country, using of the information and communication in education are less.In my class the teacher just to showed us to watch the PPT of our lesson, and less to communication about it.We got the informations on the internet by ourselves.Teacher just taught us how to use the computer and how to use the internet,we done all of the things ourselves. But when i was the student of the university,we began to study the information technology deeply,i was learned more knowledge about it.And i began communication to our teacher often,we were talking, dicussing and learn from each other, that very interesting and useful so in my mind,it was real great time. Now i'm a master,i will learn more and more knowledge about the information and communication technology in education, all contants of these is so important, and i will be a teacher later,i believe that will help me to open the other "windows".
2.What does this content mean? “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.” In my opinion, leader is the core people of a team. The leader wouldn't always be the most excellence, but he/she must be the most important. As a leader,he/she couldn't do everything by heself/sheself,but he/she must have the leadership.He/she would understand how to assign all of things to other member,he/she alse know who can do the things best, but he/she must supervise the planned speed on time. And leader must have the insight,he/she could look into the things that other can't feel.Leader need discovery the focus on the summit and catch them immediately. There is a goal in leader's mind and he/she would never lost the point and he'she will alway step by step to the goal.I think it means "leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit" . The leader must have the foresight too.He/she can see the farest place than other peopels. As leader's mind, they are climbing a tower, this tower is the tallest, and can't see the top.But they must to climb. They are never lost their mind, hopeful and resolution. When they climb the tower, they also focus all around.Caused they have foresight, they also know what needs to happen in the next 10 metres. This ability is so important and not everyone can have. So the learder is real a special person. What can i learn for the leadership? I think, too much.
I can not express my thoughts about the marvelous technology in the digital era especially computer and internet, because since I knew using it 10 back and now I can not follow the rapid change and development of these search engines. Fortunately, now I have a wonderful chance to work with computer, blog, and study ICT. Thank to the computer and internet I open my horizon and grow my knowledge much more.
I hope that attending your course I am going to use these meaning and power tools probably and I can help others in my country especially students and those who have no chance to know the meaning of these tools that help them to increase their knowledge.
First of all, I would like to let you know that I'm not familiar with ICT, but I think in Thailand ICT is more useful to connect with each other and create imagination in website. There are many places where support ICT information in Thailand, especially in Bangkok.
The second topic is what is the meaning of Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters. I think this sentence will be explained about the characteristic of the leadership. Leader should have vision and mission for the future in order to lead organization to be success.

ReplyDelete1.

ReplyDeleteThere were however other things teachers could use in the class.
Thank you,
Marcin Kempka
Dear Dr. Supit
ReplyDelete"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”

ReplyDelete1.
2. “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
The task of a leader is not an easy one; he/she must guide a team of people to an assigned goal despite the problems faced.
Olivier
During the time I was at school in England I witnessed a great change in the use of ICT at schools. When I began school there was only one computer for the entire school. A teacher had to be present to help the students use the computer. At highschool we had a dedicated computer lab however the teacher who taught us was the physics teacher. We were in the position of having 'state of the art' equipment with no one trained to teach us.
ReplyDeleteWhile I was at university the ICT services were excellent with all the equipment, infraustrature and personell around to ensure the resources were best used.

ReplyDeleteI’d like to share the ICT using in my training field.
In order to all of my audience is not student they are adult including sales and marketing people in the company so ICT is a fruitful tool for adult learning
They prefer image, animation, VDO, multimedia to enhance their attention and strengthen their learning and it can also be a self-study tool which will be personalized by each of them.

(In the educational field)
ReplyDeleteIn my country (Japan), although there is a strong emphasis on advanced technology. use of computers (or other technology) at school is not as widespread as it should be.
2)"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
I think this quote mean that leaders need to know exactly the long-term goal we are aiming at or the ultimate purpose of what we all are doing now.
Thanks,
Chie Katsuda
ReplyDelete2.“Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you are climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next 10 meters.” Leadership develops and has never ending process of learning. It needed for long or short term plan for prevent failures. ICT leadership must cope with rapid changes in adopting the technology innovation and achieved their goal.

1.In your own words, please elaborate more on the ICT using in your own country…
ReplyDeleteThe first time I touch computer is when I was five.
“Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.”
It means a leader may have a broad and long-ranged of view.
ReplyDelete"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”

ReplyDelete"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward and also being forward on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
Leadership definitely needs a passion for success in order to achieve the goals that you set within your career and through this way you should never let to be drawn away from your main target. Also in order to reach the success, what you need is to have the ability to see the next couple of steps to be taken and be ready and up-to-date so that you can put them into action.

ReplyDeleteDuring my school days, especially during elementary and high school, in the Philippines, computer usage was very limited because that was the time computer era has just started.
ReplyDeleteWhen I began to teach, the computer is necessary for me to prepare my teaching lessons. Furthermore, in recent years it has been IT explosion in my country, the applications of IT are more and more abundant, well-rounded and gainful. IT attracts me really. Now I rarely work on paper, but directly on the computer.
2/ “Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters.”
This quote has been drawn from " A final reflection on ICT Leadership" is in ICT lesson. Therefore, It need thinking in IT context. If the image of the ICT Leadership is compare to the image of mountain climbing in that context, here are three issues concerned in the quote :
- Leadership has everything to do" :
Naturally, leadership is headship of organization. With that role, he/she has his/hers a list of things for thinking and acting in the world is flat (said by Thomas L.Friedman).
- "Maintaining the focus on the summit that you're climbing toward" :
However, he/his is busy with his/hers a long list of woks, he/she doesn't set limit for him/her.

ReplyDeleteI was born and finished high school in China.
“Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.”
It means leadership is important for being successful.Leadership, a critical management skill, is the ability to motivate a group of people toward a common goal.

ReplyDelete1.What is the meaning?
"Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres."
Answer:
Before you tackle any problem, one must:
1) Look closely at the problem.
2) Understand the problem at hand, and to come up with a plan of action
3) Once a plan is in place, look at the problem and then restudy your solution, so you can fine tune it.

ReplyDelete2) Discussing about Leaders, a leader is effective when he/she can walk on the best path keeping the final goal; the vision in mind, but at the same time not forgetting the short term goals which also need fulfillment. It's not easy being a leader, however, many people are gifted and talented to perform such roles. Many times, when people work, they forget or ignore the small details which could affect the whole. Therefore, it's imperative that a leader manage jobs and tasks effectively to get the desired result.

ReplyDelete1.

“Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focussed on what needs to happen in the next ten metres.”
In my opinion, leader is the core people of a team.

First of all, I would like to let you know that I'm not familiar with ICT, but I think in Thailand ICT is more useful to connect with each other and create imagination in website. There are many places where support ICT information in Thailand, especially in Bangkok.
ReplyDeleteThe second topic is what is the meaning of Leadership has everything to do with maintaining the focus on the summit that you’re climbing toward and also being focused on what needs to happen in the next ten meters. I think this sentence will be explained about the characteristic of the leadership. Leader should have vision and mission for the future in order to lead organization to be success.
